The Rocking Barrel offers a variety of uses in the therapeutic setting. Allow clients to work on proprioceptive input and motor planning skills by crawling through or pushing the barrel, and enjoy vestibular stimulation by rolling or rocking in it.
It is great to use as a target to enforce hand-eye coordination skills. Use it as a fun addition to any obstacle course. The Rocking Barrel can also be used for calming, by providing a small space to sit in.
The Southpaw Rocking barrel is made from high density foam, covered in a soft shaped outer foam (to give it it's barrel shape). Unlike other barrels, this product does not have a wooden internal structure, but can still hold its form while being sat or laid on, thanks to its construction and the reinforced stitching used.
The shape of the barrel may change slightly over time, but it can mould back to its original shape. It is important to note that this product is not designed to be jumped or bounced on, as this can cause tears in the vinyl fabric at "stress" points. Unfortunately, this is unavoidable to be able to give you a barrel that is both lightweight and flexible. Therefore unfortunately unless faulty, small seam tears along the middle of the barrel are not covered under our standard warranty.
